
Mark Rosa, a senior at Lakewood High School, has a 3.9 grade-point average and is ranked in the top 8 percent of his class.
Mark takes Advanced Placement classes and will be enrolled in a college calculus class this year. He has received two President’s Education Awards and three academic letters, and he is a member of the National Honor Society.
Mark has served on the Student Senate and is a graduate of Youth Leadership Jefferson County. He also participated in a school-sponsored civil engineering internship for the Colorado Department of Transportation.
Mark is active in Boy Scouts, having received his Eagle Scout award at age 14. His Eagle Scout project was to organize and recruit volunteers for a Thanksgiving food drive for needy families in Jefferson County through the Jeffco Action Center.
Mark also is active in Lakewood United Methodist Church programs, participating in church mission trips to Mexico and the Pine Ridge Reservation in South Dakota, in addition to working in area homeless shelters and soup kitchens.
He holds three football letters and one letter for lacrosse, making the Academic All-State First Team in lacrosse.
Mark plays piano, flute and bass, snowboards, hunts elk and has climbed 12 of Colorado’s fourteeners.
