The Broncos will part ways with cornerback Lenny Walls this season. Walls, who began the season as a starting cornerback, was put on the injured reserve list on Tuesday.

As soon as he is healthy, he can play again this year but not for the Broncos. The team would release him so he could sign elsewhere. Walls suffered a groin injury Oct. 23 during the game against the New York Giants. He is expected to be healthy and free to sign elsewhere in about two weeks.

“We thank the Broncos for this unique opportunity,” Walls’ agent Peter Schaffer said. “Lenny is looking forward to resuming his 2005 season elsewhere.”

To fill Wall’s place on the roster, Denver signed safety Hamza Abdullah off Tampa Bay’s practice squad. He was a seventh-round pick of the Buccaneers.
