Breckenridge – Skiers and snowboarders enjoyed more than a foot of new snow in parts of the central mountains Saturday while drivers faced some temporary road closures.

All three open Colorado ski resorts reported fresh snow.

Arapahoe Basin picked up 12 inches over 24 hours, while Copper Mountain reported 15 inches and Loveland 14 inches.

The snow forced several temporary road closures, including Vail Pass and Loveland Pass.

It’s the second big snowstorm this fall. Up to 2 1/2 feet fell in the mountains and 20 inches on the plains on Oct. 9 and 10.

Two more ski resorts, Keystone and Breckenridge, plan to open Friday.
