Mankato, Minn. – The two-time defending champion Denver Pioneers got three power-play goals, including a game-tying goal from Ryan Dingle with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, to tie Minnesota State-Mankato, 3-3, on Friday night.

Rob Rankin had a goal and an assist for Minnesota State-Mankato.

Rankin assisted on his team’s first goal and scored his second of the season in the third period as the Mavericks (1-6-2, 1-4-2 WCHA) extended their unbeaten streak to three games.

Dingle tapped in a loose puck for the seventh-ranked Pioneers (5-3-1, 3-1-1) for his team-leading ninth goal of the season.

Freshman goaltender Dan Tormey had 33 saves for the Mavericks, while Denver’s Glenn Fisher stopped 30 shots.

Both teams killed a penalty in overtime to preserve the tie.
