A 17-year-old boy told Arvada police that he was pulled over Friday morning by a man police believe may be impersonating them.

Police say the incident is similar to two other cases they are investigating that happened earlier in the week.

The teen was driving south on Wadsworth Boulevard around 11:30 a.m. Friday when an unmarked blue car pulled up behind him. The boy said the car followed him to 72nd Avenue and Carr Street, with emergency lights displayed from the interior of the car or visor.

A man dressed in a blue button-down shirt looked inside the boy’s car, then returned to his vehicle before driving off westbound on 72nd Avenue.

Earlier this week, there were two similar incidents in Arvada. The first was on Monday near 38th Avenue and Kip ling Street, and the second incident was Tuesday near 80th Avenue and Kipling.

In each case, 9News reported, the female drivers gave similar descriptions of the man who stopped them. They said he is about 6 feet tall, white or Hispanic with short dark hair and a goatee. They described the car as a blue or black Dodge Intrepid with police lights on the dash.

In Friday’s case, the man is described as a 6-foot white male, 200 pounds, with brown hair, a goatee and blue eyes.
