Q: How do you know if your sixth sense is picking up on something, or if you’re just being paranoid?

My husband and I hang out with another couple, and I often get a “vibe” that we are unwelcome although they tell us often to come over anytime.

My husband doesn’t get the same vibe and since his best friend recently moved away, he really enjoys this other guy’s company. And since I like the girl, I keep going over there with him, but one in five times they seem distant and not thrilled to see us.

When this happens I stop going there for a while, and then my husband says I am being rude. So, how do I know?

SCOTT: Let’s start with your sixth sense question.

In a nutshell, your sixth sense is independent of the other five senses and is also known as intuition, perception, etc. Some people rely on it in everyday life, while others discount it completely.

When you got that “vibe” from the other couple, it was your inner genius picking up on something they’re trying to tell you. Right on, sister!

But why didn’t your husband pick up on that vibe, then? It’s simple: his perception isn’t as keen as yours.

Overall, women tend to listen to their intuition more than men, hence the term “women’s intuition.”

I always say trust your instincts and I’m not going to stop here. Take the hint and reduce the amount of time you spend with this couple. Quality, not quantity, is what’s important when it comes to spending time with others.

When you do see them, they’ll actually be happy to see you and you’ll have more to talk about.

How great is that?
