Getting your player ready...

Rock it like an NBA star tonight, with Carmelo Anthony’s Jordan Melo 5.5 shoe release party tonight at Beyond nightclub. “It’s supposed to be like All Star weekend all over again tonight,” said Jennifer Rushford, marketing director for the dance club and also for nearby Spy Lounge, both in the Denver Pavilions (500 16th St., second level).

Anthony will head over to Beyond after tonight’s Nuggets vs. Knicks game to meet up with a slew of celeb guest hosts: Look for rappers Jadakiss, Cam’ron, Styles P, Sheek Louch and MTV’s La La in the house, and guest DJ Absolut (NYC) will join locals Chief Rocka and Sabotage in the booth. Rumor has it that Michael Jordan will make an appearance, and it sounds like Spy is the place to be for the private VIP scene – reps from Nike rented the entire lounge out for the night.

Mere mortals can still get in on plenty of celeb action at Beyond though, along with CD and clothing giveaways (no word on whether the new shoe is part of that) and a dressed-to-impress crowd on the dance floor. Presale tickets were running $15 earlier this week; head down before the party starts at 9 tonight for walk-up tickets, and expect to pay more at the door.

“Maximize pleasure” at The Church

At The Church nightclub, housed in the historic building at 1160 Lincoln St., it’s hard for some people not to feel just a smidge guilty for getting their drink on and letting loose in a former church. Now promoters are taking it even further with “Hedonism,” a special event tonight designed to fulfill a “fundamental obligation to maximize pleasure,” according to the saucy fliers for the party.

The BellaSin dancers, a group of nearly a dozen raver women and go-go dancers culled from last summer’s Global Dance Festival at Red Rocks, have formed a dance troupe to showcase their nightclub dance moves and funky fashions. Look for performances by DJ Etain vs. DJ Ascension as they celebrate the release of their respective new CDs, “Wicked” and “Railed.” Andromeda Live and The Scoleri Brothers join the cast; doors are at 9 p.m. for the 18-plus show.

Carouse with “Casanova”

Another big night – and another totally different scene – takes place tonight at the 28th annual Starz Denver International Film Festival. The festival’s “Big Night” film premiere and party features a screening of director Lasse Hallström’s “Casanova” at the new Ellie Caulkins Opera House inside the Denver Performing Arts Complex. After the film, attendees can stick around for the late-

night festival soiree. Judging by the scene on opening night, expect plenty of dolled-up film buffs eagerly awaiting the red-carpet arrival of various film directors and actors.

Event is 8 p.m., $25 tickets at denverfilm.org.

Vinyl, Tabu and Donkey Den

Next week is a short one for the workaday set, so the clubs are gearing up for plenty of midweek excursions. On Tuesday, Vinyl (1082 Broadway) relaunches its long-running Tuesday ladies’ night. For years, it was a packed, sweaty, high-energy singles scene that made it a staple on the weekly club circuit in Denver. DJ Gary and Wyatt Earp will try to bring back the glory days; ladies drink $1 wine and wells until midnight. …

Wednesday, Tabu nightclub (1222 Glenarm Place) hosts a pre-Thanksgiving bash with a naughty schoolgirl theme. …

Thursday, the “Orphan’s Thanksgiving” offers an alternative for turkey day – a three-venue party at Donkey Den (1109 Lincoln St.), and new adjoining lounge spots Grenade and Gavi. Starting at 2 p.m., look for the “kids’ table” at Donkey Den, with open seating all night for a $30 traditional dinner; Gavi offers the “adults’ table,” a $65 gourmet four-course meal paired with wine. After 10 p.m., pay $10 to access the “leftover grazing buffet.”

Call Donkey Den at 303-832-4100 for reservations.
