Larimer County authorities say they broke up a methamphetamine ring in Loveland this week and arrested two of the operation’s ringleaders following an eight-month investigation.
“As far as dismantling an entire organization, this is probably our greatest success in the last two years,” said Lt. Craig Dodd, commander of the Larimer County Drug Task Force.
Dodd said investigators believe the organization dealt meth to as many as 300 residents in Larimer County.
They arrested Joshua Tobey Perea, 24, and Kristine Summers, 22, both of Loveland, who allegedly ran an organization that involved up to 20 meth dealers, Dodd said.
Police are still searching for another alleged ringleader, Jason Lee Smith, 31. Smith and Perea are believed to have been the main distributors, Dodd said. Summers is Smith’s common-law wife, he said.
Dodd said the organization distributed 4 to 5 pounds of meth weekly in the Loveland and Fort Collins areas.
