SPOTLIGHT ON SANDIS OZOLINSH
The former Avalanche defenseman was activated from the injured list Wednesday. His absence had been felt by the Ducks, who have had trouble scoring goals of late. Ozolinsh, 33, is a minus-5 in the eight games he’s played. His offense has always made up for his defensive shortcomings.

AVS LIKE DUCKS: The Avalanche franchise is 21-9-7-2 against the Mighty Ducks. Colorado took a 4-3 decision from Anaheim earlier this month at the Pepsi Center. The Avs are 11-4-3-1 at Arrowhead Pond.
HINOTE UPDATE: Avalanche right wing Dan Hinote remains day to day with a bruised knee. He hopes to play at least once this weekend against Anaheim tonight or Los Angeles on Saturday night.
SANS SERGEI: The Mighty Ducks played their first game without center Sergei Fedorov on Wednesday night. Anaheim lost to Dallas, 4-2. Fedorov was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets on Tuesday for Tyler Wright and Francois Beauchemin.
