Housing for college students is going upscale.

Students renting rooms at four projects with units either under construction or recently completed will enjoy a host of amenities, including theater rooms, coffee bars, fitness centers and nutrition and fitness seminars.

The Regency, Auraria’s student housing community at 3900 Elati St., offers a free shuttle to transport students the 2 miles to the campus. It also has free on-site parking, security cameras indoors and out and key-card access.

Denver investor V. Robert Salazar purchased the former Regency Hotel for $6.4 million last year and is converting it into housing for up to 700 students.
