Rams swimmers win twice at Air Force

The Colorado State women’s swimming and diving team swept a double dual with Air Force and San Diego State on Saturday at the Cadet Natatorium on the academy grounds.

The Rams defeated Air Force 172-128 and San Diego State 195-99. In the third dual, the Falcons rallied from a 22-point deficit to top the Aztecs 160-140.

It was the second consecutive year CSU beat Air Force and San Diego State in a double dual.

Air Force’s Jane Hwang placed first in three events, winning the 100-yard butterfly with a time of 58:31 seconds and the 200 butterfly at 2:12.68. She also won the 200 individual medley with a time of 2:12.29.

New Mammoth signees start training camp

Two new Colorado Mammoth players made their training camp debuts Saturday. Denver resident Mike Law was signed after being released by the San Jose Stealth, and recent University of Denver graduate Scott Davidson appeared for the first time after completing his final soccer season for the Pioneers.

Three Coloradans qualify for pro race

Two Colorado skiers and a snowboarder finished with the top times in their respective divisions at the King of the Mountain Series’ National Open qualifier at Crested Butte Mountain Resort in Crested Butte and earned wild-card spots in today’s Professional Skiing and Snowboarding World Championships.

Boulder’s Tyler Shepherd won the men’s ski division, Meeker’s Suzan Dole won the women’s ski competition and Avon’s Lindsey Telling won the women’s snowboard event.

Today’s races, which will feature 24 national and international professionals competing for a $150,000 purse, begins at 11 a.m.
