Cuban leader Fidel Castro gestures during a remembrance ceremony in Payne’s
Bay, Barbados, Thursday, Dec. 8, 2005, for the victims of the 1973 bombing
of the Cubana Airlines flight from Barbados to Havana, in which 73 people
were killed. Joining Castro are St. Lucia Prime Minister Kenny
Anthony,second left, and Barbados Prime Minister Owen Arthur, fourth left.

The bombing plot was purportedly hatched in Caracas by Luis Posada
Carriles, a Cuban native and naturalized Venezuelan currently in jail in
the U.S. on an immigration violation.
Castro was in Barbados for a Caribbean Summit.
