San Jose, Calif. – Lamisha Augustine scored 35 points and had 11 rebounds and five assists to lead San Jose State to a 78-66 win over Colorado State on Saturday.
It was the second consecutive loss for the Rams, who fell 77-58 to Denver on Wednesday night.
Melissa Dennett scored 24 points and had 10 rebounds for Colorado State (4-3).
“I’ve always been impressed with our team and now I want them to be perfect,” CSU coach Jen Warden said. “We have progressed every game and now we are seeking perfection.”
Lindsay Thomas scored 13 points and had a game-high 12 rebounds, and Vanessa Espinoza added 12 points.
Augustine made 13-of-18 shots, including 5-for-5 from three-point range, for San Jose State (3-4). Amber Jackson had 16 points and 10 rebounds, and Anetero Uiagalelei added 12 points for the Spartans.
Air Force 81, Montana State 61
Bozeman, Mont. – The Falcons tied their school record since moving up to NCAA Division I with their fourth road win and are unbeaten away from home.
Air Force (6-1) also is just one win from tying its highest win total as a Division I team.
The Falcons broke open a close game in the first half against the Bobcats (0-7) with a 16-5 run and took a 45-29 halftime lead.
The lead grew to as many as 29 in the second half.
Sophomore Pamela Findlay led Air Force with a career- high 18 points. Sophomore Alecia Steele had 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Ellen Jaeschke added 12 points, seven rebounds and three blocked shots.
Amanda DeHaan had 18 points and nine rebounds for Montana State.
Wyoming 71, Northern Colorado 47
Laramie – The Cowgirls raced to a 37-21 halftime lead and won their fourth consecutive game.
Guard Jodi Bolerjack was 5-of-6 on 3-point shots en route to a game-high 17 points. Hanna Zavecz scored 13 points for Wyoming (6-1) with Michelle Taylor (11) and Megan McGuffey (10) completing double-figure scorers for the Cowgirls.
Danielle Hagen’s 13 points paced Northern Colorado (4-4).
“Our game plan coming in was to shut Northern Colorado down from the 3-point line, and limiting them to 1-for-9 from beyond the arc was a great defensive job by this team,” Wyoming coach Joe Legerski said.
The Cowgirls stormed out in the second half and scored 14 unanswered points to increase the lead to 51-21 as Northern Colorado went more than seven minutes without scoring.
No. 23 Utah 81, Gonzaga 54
Salt Lake City – Shona Thorburn had 22 points and a career-high 13 assists to lead the Utes.
Kim Smith had 18 points and 11 rebounds for the Utes, and Julie Larsen had 11 points.
Ashley Anderson scored 16 points and Katy Ridenour had 10 points and a team-high six rebounds for Gonzaga, which was outrebounded 46-25.
