U.S. Rep. Mark Udall, D-Eldorado Springs, was chosen today for jury duty in Boulder County Court. He will serve for two days in a civil trial.
“Trial by a jury of peers is a sacred constitutional right and a pillar of our free and democratic government,” he said in a statement today. “Jury duty is one of the greatest American civic responsibilities, and I’ll take my duties seriously.”
President Bush was summoned to jury duty earlier this month by a Texas court. The White House said he plans to serve on a jury at a later date.
Details about Udall’s trial weren’t available.
