Kodiak Oil & Gas Corp., based in Denver, announced the sale through a private placement of 7 million shares of common stock to a group of U.S. and Canadian institutional investors. The company raised a total of $8.5 million at a share price of $1.23.

Brinkmann Constructors of Colorado will build its third Home Depot store of the year in Lakewood. The 133,000- square-foot store and garden center will break ground in December and is scheduled to be completed in July 2006.
