Duluth, Minn. – Matt Carle had a goal and two assists as the University of Denver rallied for a 4-2 win at Minnesota Duluth on Friday.

Carle, one of the top-scoring defensemen in the country, scored in the first period to tie the game 1-1 and assisted on the next two goals as the Pioneers (10-7-2, 7-4-2 WCHA) won for the fifth time in their past six games.

Glenn Fisher had a career-high 39 saves for the Pioneers, who moved into third place in the WCHA standings with the victory.

Minnesota Duluth scored first on Matt McKnight’s short-handed breakaway goal, but allowed the next three goals and was unable to rally.

Josh Johnson started the game in goal for the Bulldogs (7-9-3, 5-5-3) and stopped eight shots before being pulled at the end of the opening period.

Issac Reichmuth finished the game in goal for Minnesota Duluth and had 11 saves.
