UNC women sharp from long distance in win
The University of Northern Colorado (9-8) women’s basketball team trailed Texas-Pan American (4-13) 30-27 at halftime but hit nine 3-pointers in the second half to cruise to a 72-52 victory Sunday at the Butler-Hancock Sports Pavilion in Greeley.
CHL’s Blazers win shootout over Eagles
The Colorado Eagles of the Central Hockey League fell on the losing side of the highest scoring game in team history as the host Oklahoma City Blazers won 8-6. The Blazers’ Marty Standish scored three goals and Gio Flamminio added two as Oklahoma City (20-14-1, 43 points) gained two points on Northwest Division-leading Colorado (25-8-3, 53 points). Riley Nelson and Jason Lundmark each scored two goals to lead the Eagles.
Mammoth splits NLL series with Stealth
The San Jose Stealth of the National Lacrosse League downed the visiting Colorado Mammoth 10-7 late Saturday night at the HP Pavillion to split the weekend home-and-home series between the teams.
