Tomorrow won’t be Friday. According to state and local authorities, tomorrow will be “Orange Friday.”

That’s due to official proclamations urging Coloradans to wear Broncos colors.

The proclamations were issued this morning by Gov. Bill Owens, joined by Denver Mayor John Hickenlooper in a snow-ball fight and press conference at Civic Center.

The governor’s proclamation declares that “Whereas the Denver Broncos systematically destroyed the defending Super Bowl Champion New England Patriot…and whereas the Denver Broncos are 9-0 in the formidable confines of Invesco Field at Mile High…therefore I, Bill Owens, Governor of the State of Colorado do hereby proclaim January 20, 2006, ORANGE FRIDAY.”

Hickenlooper had his own Orange Friday Proclamation, saying the Broncos’ success is an asset to the whole community.

“If you look at the revenues that are coming into the city and into the state as a result of these two playoff games, and – more than that – the power that it brings to what our brand is, and how people in other states and other cities, across the country and indeed across the world – how they think about Denver,” he said.
