The Colorado Crush of the Arena Football League on Saturday announced its 24-player opening-day roster for when it hosts the Chicago Rush at 1 p.m. on Jan. 29.
The Crush released wide receiver-linebacker Kevin McKenzie and waived linemen Maurice Anderson, Jason Hardee, Brett Huyser and Derrick Pickens; wide receivers-defensive backs Herman Bell, Tim Gilligan, Maurice Tucker, Jabir Walker and Wendell Williams; fullback-linebacker Paul Jefferson; quarterbacks Tim Levcik and Joe Wiser; and returner-linebacker Darcey Levy.
DeLoach sets CSU women’s long jump record
Janay DeLoach, a long jumper on the Colorado State women’s track and field team, set a school record in the event at the Modrall Sperling Lobo Invitational at the Albuquerque Convention Center. DeLoach jumped 20 feet, 4 1/2 inches to win the indoor meet, breaking her record of 20-1 3/4 from 2004.
Regis names its sixth Hall of Fame class
Regis University announced its sixth Athletics Hall of Fame class, to be inducted Saturday. Former men’s basketball standouts Bobby Wallace, Dave Fredrickson and Louis Stout, women’s basketball players T.D. Newton and Corinne Deters, pitcher Ian Ferguson and the 1998 women’s volleyball team will be inducted.
