Aspen is about to get a very fancy new restaurant – unlike anything in town.

It was announced at the opening dinner of the new Summit restaurant at the Broadmoor Sunday night that Adam D. Tihany, one of the world’s premiere restaurant visionaries, will design the new eatery that will reside in the soon-to-be-remodeled Hotel Jerome in Aspen.

“It will be like a chic loft,” Tihany told me. “Something very cool, so you will not feel that you are in a hotel. It will be sexy enough for everyone to feel comfortable.”

Tihany designed Summit – a $5 million restaurant. So expect something eye-popping in Aspen – with a price tag to match.

Christy Everest, owner of the Broadmoor and the Jerome, flew into Colorado Springs Sunday to sign off on the Jerome deal with Tihany.

“Today” show travel guy Peter Greenberg was at the Broadmoor to check out the new eatery, as was TV personality Sissy Biggers.
