NFFCHF honors
Football: The Colorado Chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame will honor 11 prep scholar-athletes on Monday, Feb. 13. Each will receive $1,000 scholarships after being selected from a field of statewide nominees based on athletic ability, academic achievement, character, citizenship and service to their communities.
New University of Colorado coach Dan Hawkins will be the featured speaker at the event, set for 5:30 p.m. (reception) and 6:30 p.m. (dinner) at the Marriott Denver Tech Center.
In addition, the Colorado Chapter will honor Jim Grieve with the Joe Kearney Service Award for his contributions to amateur football. Guy Gibbs will be recognized with the John Adams Officiating Award. The foundation will again name its All-Colorado collegiate football team and recognize the players of the year.

Nike clinic
Football: The 26th Nike coach of the year clinic will be Feb. 2-4 at the Radisson Hotel Denver Southeast, Interstate 225 and Parker Road, Aurora.
There will be a number of local and national high school and college football coaches on hand, including Bobby Bowden, Florida State, the winningest head coach in Division I-A, and new University of Colorado coach Dan Hawkins.
