Kenneth “Quan” Phi is a senior at John F. Kennedy High School in Denver. He is the recipient of the “Scholar Athlete” award. As a tennis player, he was ranked the No. 1 singles player on the tennis team last year. This year he is on the No. 1 doubles team.

Kenneth is the youth council president of the Youth Strengthening Youth Program at the Asian-Pacific Development Center, a statewide program that promotes community service and leadership.

Kenneth graduated from the Denver Pre- Freshman Engineering Program at Colorado Community College. The three-year summer program is sponsored in part by NASA, and Kenneth has been elected to serve as a mentor to other students.

Kenneth was part of the Medical Explorer Post, which involved going to St. Joseph Hospital every other week to learn about careers in medicine and developments in the medical field.

Kenneth is a math tutor, as well as the founder and president of Kennedy High School’s Diversity Club. He has been playing cello for nine years and is in concert orchestra.

He is planning a career in ophthalmology.
