A MASTER AT WORK
Brix, et al
3000 E. Third Ave., Denver
303-333-3355
As Brix celebrates its second anniversary owner Charles Master is hard at work on two new places. Brix Downtown – look for it on the southwest corner of 22nd and Market streets – will be a welcome addition to the downtown scene, but it’s Studio 5270, downstairs from the Brix archetype in Cherry Creek North, that has people excited. Until the new spots open, though, Brix is still packed nightly for drinks in the front and dishes in the back.
DOGGY DELICACIES
Brown Dog Jerky
1738 Pearl St., Boulder
303-449-5069
You have Ted’s Montana Grill. Now your pooch can have her own free-range, grass-fed Colorado bison, though in the form of a bit of jerky instead of a juicy burger. Brown Dog Jerky will set you back $12 for a 6-ounce resealable bag of treats that that pack pounds of low-fat nutrition into a little nibble that even cats love. Rick Frankel, who developed the jerky, says he’s running through a bison a month, even though the treats are sold only at Colorado Canines in Boulder.
