A team led by real estate tycoon Donald Trump is out of the running as developer of Denver’s historic Union Station.

Trump’s team was one of two groups omitted from participation in the next phase of the selection process for being “non-responsive” to the request for qualification submittal requirements, said Liz Orr, master developer executive director for the project. Timothy O’Brien LLC also was omitted from the process.

Trump and O’Brien still could get a piece of the project if they are invited to participate by one of the nine teams still left in the competition.

The teams invited to participate have about five weeks to reconfigure their development teams and submit their first proposals.
