According to Life & Style Weekly, Cruise told a friend he doesn’t want to repeat the mistakes he made in his marriage to Nicole Kidman, who continued to work after she and Cruise adopted two children. Cruise reportedly told a pal, Holmes’ “life from now on was going to be about being a mother. I’m not giving her the chance to turn into another Nicole.” A rep denies the story.

Britney Spears likely will not face charges for driving with her 6-month-old son in her lap, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said.
Spears was photographed Monday driving her SUV through Malibu with son Sean Preston sitting on her lap. Spears told People magazine she had driven to a Starbucks with her bodyguard and she took her son out of his car seat while she waited. Aggressive photographers approached, she said, and when her bodyguard returned, Spears drove away holding her infant.
“Because of a recent incident when I was trapped in my car without my baby by a throng of paparazzi, I was terrified that this time the physically aggressive paparazzi would put both me and my baby in danger,” Spears said.
Paris Hilton proved helpful in the guilty plea Tuesday by a man charged with burglarizing Joe Francis’ home in 2004, and then hog-tying the “Girls Gone Wild!” creator and videotaping him in sexually explicit positions. Hilton had overheard in December 2004 that Darnell Riley and another man were responsible for the attack on Francis’ Bel Air mansion. Riley was sentenced to 10 years and eight months in state prison for convictions of robbery and attempted extortion.

Fiennes and longtime partner Francesca Annis have separated, lawyers for the actress said. The announcement comes after the Sunday Daily Mail reported Fiennes had an affair with Romanian singer Cornelia Crisan. Fiennes, 43, and Annis, 61, met while starring in a 1995 stage production of “Hamlet.”
