Denver police arrested a man with a violent past, who’d collected more than 30 guns in his northwest Denver home.
Police spokesman Sonny Jackson announced today that Scott Riopelle, 31, was arrested after an investigation into a December 30th incident in which two people were threatened with a gun outside a downtown night club.
Police went to Riopelle’s home at 33rd and Bryant on February 9th, to execute a felony menacing arrest warrant. That’s when they found the guns in his house and car. Because of violent felony convictions in his past, Riopelle is not allowed to possess firearms.
Riopelle is in federal custody, awaiting arraignment on federal gun charges.
