Three Texas A&M pitchers combined for a 2-0 shutout of Northern Colorado on Sunday at Olsen Field in College Station, Texas.

Austin Creps (1-0) got the victory, allowing five hits and striking out three. Texas A&M (7-0) has not allowed a run in 22 innings.

Adam Symons went 2-for-2 for Northern Colorado (2-5). Seth Gilleland (1-1) went the distance for the Bears, giving up six hits.

Gorsett sparks third-ranked Cornhuskers

Nebraska’s third-ranked baseball team defeated Richmond 5-4 in 12 innings Sunday after a two-run homer in the ninth inning by former Thomas Jefferson High School star Luke Gorsett tied the game in Charleston, S.C.

Gorsett, a junior right fielder and transfer from Garden City (Kan.) Community College, is hitting .500 (8-for-16) in Nebraska’s 3-1 start and has a .750 slugging percentage.

DU’s Nicholson receives NABC plaudit

Aurora native Yemi Nicholson, a senior center on the University of Denver’s men’s basketball team, was named to the National Association of Basketball Coaches all-District 13 first team as one of the nation’s best college basketball student-athletes. Nicholson became DU’s first men’s basketball player to earn NABC all-district honors last season when he was named to the NABC all-District 13 second team.
