The thermometer registered a frigid 7 degrees, but guests inside the tent at Landmark were pretending it was at least 70 degrees as they watched models stroll in sleeveless floral dresses, cropped pants and summer suits. Neiman Marcus previewed its spring trends for a crowd of 350 gathered for “A Night of Beauty” to benefit the Kempe Foundation, which works in prevention and treatment of child abuse and neglect. The round stage featured a “tree” dripping in pink carnations, and the path leading to the show area was lined in flowers, the floor lit with the words “Life, Love, Hope.”

The evening also was an occasion to show off the $1.3 million sales center of Landmark, a two-tower luxury condominium in Greenwood Village being developed by Zack Davidson of Tulsa, Okla. Guests sampled seared tuna, salads in martini glasses and sweet-potato fries from Occasions by Sandy as they lounged on the leather furniture and toured the two-bedroom, two-bath model home on the site. Davidson gave Kempe a check for $50,000 and recognized a group of community leaders prior to the fashion show.

The crowd, bundled in furs and wool suits, found respite in the warm-season wear, applauding the male and female models who smiled and skipped across the stage. All too soon, it was time to head back outside, where valets dressed like arctic explorers ferried cars from distant lots.
