It’s official: Thursday is for chairlift conferences and powdery powwows. The 66-year-old Denver to Winter Park Ski Train this week adds Thursdays to its Friday-through-Sunday lineup; a move that promises to replace the office’s dreary Hawaiian Shirt Friday with Goggle Tan Monday.
Jim Bain, the legendary train’s president, said the extra day was added to accommodate demand from groups, not as a diversion for the powder hungry cubicle escapees. Fares are $49 a person, or $44 if you get 11 co-workers to join you for a slopeside summit. The train leaves Union Station at 7:15 a.m., so call in sick before the whistle blows and enjoy the crowd-free powder day you deserve. Because everyone knows productivity increases with every floaty turn.
