Greeley – Northern Colorado men’s basketball coach Craig Rasmuson resigned Monday and took a job as a full-time fundraiser for the school.
Rasmuson, 36, was 63-129 in seven seasons coaching the Bears. His new job title is director of athletic development.
“It’s just the right time to make this move,” he said.
Rasmuson will focus on raising money to improve facilities at the school, which becomes an official member of the Big Sky Conference on July 1.
UNC, in the third year of a four-year move from Division II to Division I, finished 5-24.
“We come off a basketball season that wasn’t quite as successful as we’d have hoped,” UNC athletic director Jay Hinrichs said. “I know that Craig and his coaching staff aren’t as pleased as they liked to be.”
