Coming off the Olympics, NBC is hoping to capture the interest of viewers with this game show in which contestants are given locked briefcases and then offered cash for the contents. The trick is they don’t know what’s in the briefcase. It could be even more money or it could be smelly old socks. It’s kind of like online dating. NBC
7 p.m. “Wife Swap”
A modeling executive trades places with a woman who adheres to an ethic of simple living. The modeling executive has a hard time with the switch. There are only so many things you can do to accessorize Birkenstocks. ABC
7 p.m. “Confronting Evil”
Victims are allowed to confront the criminals who wronged them. Experts say this can be very healing, mainly for the producers’ bank accounts. A&E Network
8 p.m. The Apprentice”
Donald Trump is back with a new platoon of obnoxious yuppies. Producers promise this season will include more outrageous challenges, more scathing boardroom sessions and a special “evicting the downtrodden” lightning round. NBC
10:35 p.m. “Late Show with David Letterman”
Bruce Willis talks about his latest “Die Hard” sequel: “Die Older.” CBS
