A pair of free throws by Utah’s Johnnie Bryant with less than a second remaining Thursday night clinched a 74-70 victory for the Utes in the Mountain West Conference Tournament.

Bryant finished with 16 points, but was second to center Luke Nevill’s 29. Utah benefited from a 37-21 advantage in rebounding, led by Nevill’s 14.

BYU was led by Keena Young with 17 points.

UNLV 65, NEW MEXICO 64

Two Ricky Morgan free throws with 16 seconds left lifted fourth seed UNLV (17-12) over the defending MWC Tournament champion. No. 5 seed New Mexico went home with a 17-13 final record after leading for most of the game.

It was only the third one-point game in MWC Tournament history.

The final score was UNLV’s first lead since the opening two minutes. New Mexico’s biggest advantage was 13 points with 13:27 left.

Morgan was able to win it after New Mexico’s Tony Danridge missed two foul shots with 25 seconds left. Lobos guard Jeff Hart missed on a desperation 3-pointer with 10 seconds remaining.
