Some nerve they have.
There might be some sensitivity about the exhibit now showing at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science.
This ground-breaking fuse of art and science showcases real human bodies that have been stripped, posed, and preserved – bones, nerves and all – and put on display to highlight the intricacies and textures that lie beneath our skin.
An uncommon look at “everyday material,” you can see these skinless sculptures on display through July 23.

Jake Adam York is an accomplished poet on the local circuit, whose involvement in programs like and , workshops, and lecture series have made a respected name for this southern-born writer.
None quite so much so as his most recent publication, “Murder Ballads” ($13.00 Elixir Press), from which he’ll be reading tonight at Tattered Cover LoDo. Born in Alabama, York’s most recent work focuses on Civil Rights sacrifices, positioning “Murder Ballads” as highly current and enrapturing.
York is a veteran poetry reader, and his reading this evening will be one-half of the Second Monday Poetry Readings at the local bookstore favorite.

Coffee with a side of sophistication.
Michaelangelo’s on Broadway is classy without being pretentious.
Instead of the usual, esoteric indie rock you’d find in most coffee spots, you can expect to hear classical music inside the refined and relaxed atmosphere that Michaelangelo’s provides, suitable for its distinguished espresso and coffee concoctions, and a house-made sweet Chai that might be my favorite in the city so far.
But the real draw is its wonderful wine menu, making it a cultured night-time hotspot, and a good selection of panini sandwiches right proper for daytime lounging.
It’s Italian in essence, and an overall astute addition to the Broadway boom.
