Fort Worth, Texas-based RadioShack Corp. will close 10 stores in the Denver metro area and three in Colorado Springs, the company said today.

The stores are expected to close by Aug. 1.

A RadioShack spokeswoman said she did not know how many employees would be impacted by the closures.

Workers will be offered the opportunity to transfer to the remaining 56 stores in the metro area and the 13 stores that will continue operating in Colorado Springs.

Employees who do not transfer will receive severance packages, she said.

RadioShack is closing 480 stores nationwide.

  • Meadows on the Parkway, 4800 Baseline, Boulder
  • Hillside Mall, University Square, 2660 11th Avenue, Greeley
