Regis center fielder Heather Utecht tied an NCAA Division II record Sunday with four home runs in the Rangers’ 20-12 victory in the second game of a doubleheader with Mesa State in Grand Junction.

Utecht, a graduate of Pomona High School, became one of four players in NCAA history to hit four homers in a game. Coker’s Missy Paterson was the most recent to do it, in 1999. Utecht has 11 home runs this season.

The Rangers (20-11, 12-0 Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference) hit eight home runs in the game and also beat Mesa State (9-12, 9-7) in the first game, 15-2.

Coronado’s Cejudo wins at all-star meet

Henry Cejudo, a four-time Colorado state champion from Coronado High School, earned a 6-4 victory over Spring Grove’s (Pa.) Brian Polashuk in the 125-pound weight class to help the United States All-Stars to a 31-15 win over the Pennsylvania All-Stars at the 32nd annual Dapper Dan Wrestling Classic in Pittsburgh.

At 140 pounds, Pennsylvania’s Garrett Scott pinned Curtis Salazar of Valley High School in Gilcrest in 4 minutes, 9 seconds. Salazar is a three-time state champion.

Utah, Colorado skiers take telemark titles

Dylan Crossman of Salt Lake City held on to win the men’s division after the final round of the U.S. Extreme Freeskiing Telemark Championships at Crested Butte. Basalt’s Will Cardamone finished second, followed by Crested Butte’s Seaton MacMillan. Crossman also led after Saturday’s first round.

First-round leader Janae Pritchett of Crested Butte won the women’s division, followed by Martha Burley of Fernie, British Columbia, and Sarah Light of Whitefish, Mont.
