A 45-year-old Commerce City man fell to his death Thursday morning while dismantling a water tower near West 53rd Avenue and Ward Road.
Witnesses told police that the man, who has not been publicly identified pending notification of relatives, was working on the tower when it shifted, and he fell about 40 feet to the ground.
A Commerce City company has been working at the site for the past few days.
The death is being investigated as an accident by the Arvada Police Department. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration has been alerted to review possible safety violations.
