David Gottlieb, a senior at Herzl/RMHA, Denver Campus, has a 3.68 grade-point average.

He has attended film workshops at the University of Denver, Hollywood Film Institute and Harvard University through the New York Film Academy. He has taught a filmmaking course for fellow students as an after-school activity and is working as a copywriter and director for a feature-length film he expects to produce over the next few months.

David has taken Advanced Placement classes and is an editor of the student newspaper. He competes on his school’s basketball, baseball and soccer teams. In addition, he has played violin since age 6 and plans to continue studying music in college.

David has been involved in volunteer activities for a number of years. With his sister, he annually raises funds for diabetes research. The two have solicited more than $75,000 in contributions over the past four years.

David will attend the University of Pennsylvania in the fall. In addition to filmmaking and music, he is interested in studying writing, journalism, astrophysics and engineering.
