HALF-OFF HIGH DESIGN: This is the final weekend of the half-off floor sample sale at One Home, the well-appointed, midcentury-inspired décor store that started four years ago in a tiny Golden Triangle storefront but now inhabits a sleek, angular corner building at 2445 E. Third Ave. Look for an especially good sale selection of graphic-print wool pillows and rugs by è bella (pillow shown), Hokanson and Merida. Store hours are 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Friday; 11 a.m.-5 p.m. Saturday; and noon-5 p.m. Sunday.

OLDHAM’S NO LA-Z-BOY: Style-watchers tout black-and-white as one of spring’s big trends. Renaissance designer Todd Oldham must agree: His latest, retro-inspired collection for La-Z-Boy makes another major stride away from the company’s old, lumpy-chair reputation. Oldham’s Diamond Flyer sofa is striking with black and cream cushions ($949). And the black-and-white herringbone Dexter sofa ($899) is equally flashy. Black-and-white may be read all over, but these pieces will make houseguests green with envy.

CUSTOMIZED FOR KIDS: Evergreen illustrator Jennifer Winslow realizes how special it is when a kid owns something no one else does. That’s one of the reasons she recently expanded her customized children’s furnishings business to include a 1,500-square-foot storefront at 3895 Evergreen Parkway (in the Safeway shopping center). Blue Daisy Baby and Kids now houses Winslow’s hand-painted furniture, banners, stools, toy boxes, chair sets and vanities, all of which can be ordered to match a child’s nursery, bedding or hobbies. Store hours are 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday
