Police arrested one man and continued to search for another suspected in a home invasion robbery early today in the 100 block of South Holly Street in Denver.
About 6 a.m., two men forced their way into the house, assaulted the homeowner and stole his Mercedes-Benz and other items, Denver police spokesman Sonny Jackson said.
The attack and robbery appears to be random, Jackson said.
Police spotted the stolen car on Colorado and Alameda boulevards and initiated a short pursuit.
During the pursuit, one of the men drove the car into a park, got out and ran across Colorado Boulevard into the 200 block of South Jackson street.
Denver and Glendale police set up a perimeter around the neighborhood and sent a police dog to find the men.
One man was arrested and taken to University Hospital with bite wounds from the police dog.
