A state trooper has been placed on leave while authorities investigate claims that he tried to watch a woman change clothes in a department store dressing room.
Trooper Eric Burfkin, 33, was arrested Friday after turning himself at the Golden Police Department.
Burfkin is accused of trying to watch a woman change at the Kohl’s Department Store at 16700 W. Colfax Ave.
Golden police said he fled the store prior to officers arriving, but turned himself in later the same day.
Burfkin, who has been with the State Patrol since 1997, was issued a misdemeanor summons for unlawful sexual contact. A Jefferson County court appearance has been scheduled for June 6.
