Emergency crews responded to a gas leak and evacuated a small Bergen Park shopping center in Evergreen this afternoon.
The leak was reported at 1264 Red Lodge Drive. Construction workers broke a gas pipeline while excavating a building in the area, according to Jefferson County Sheriff’s spokesman Jim Shires.
The deputies received a call about the leak at 12:55 p.m. Officers blocked off a couple of nearby roads while emergency crews cleaned up the leak, Shires said.
No one was injured, Shires added.
