Nuggets disrespect fans
I am a huge Nuggets fan, but I will remember an important lesson next year: not to buy any tickets after they become the division champs.
I am a grandmother living on Social Security, and in honor of the 16th birthday of two of my grandsons, I splurged and purchased first-level tickets to the April 15 game against the Sacramento Kings. I normally have the seats up in the rafters, but this was to be a special occasion. It wasn’t special, as the Nuggets had the division locked up and played like it didn’t matter. They should remember it is important to their fans who have supported them.

Pay only if they play?
I am a 30-year Nuggets fan, having attended games at the Auditorium Arena, McNichols Arena and the Pepsi Center. I have seen the great (Alex English and their trip to the 1984-85 Western Conference finals vs. the Lakers), the good (Mount Mutombo beating the Sonics) and the bad (David Thompson’s fall from grace). But I never have read anything as ludicrous as Kenyon Martin stating, “I’m a playoff player.” For us 10-game fan plan ticket holders, is it possible to become a “playoff payer”? If so, I’d kindly like a refund for my 10-game pack, which I gladly will apply to paying for postseason seats to watch players such as K-mart who only come to play in the playoffs.

Giving props to White
Enough of the bashing of LenDale White. He was obviously hurt and people seem to easily forget his accomplishments. Consider this, NFL general managers:
* In three years, White was a major factor in three national championship games and two national titles.
* He is eighth on USC’s all-time rushing list behind Heisman Trophy winners Reggie Bush, Mike Garrett, O.J. Simpson, Marcus Allen and Charles White. The other two he trails, Ricky Bell and Anthony Davis, finished second in Heisman voting.
* If he had stayed for his senior year and gained 600 yards, he would have 3,759 yards and would pass Davis (3,724) and rank only behind White (6,245) and Allen (4,810) on the school’s all-time rushing list. If he gained more than 1,651 yards, he would be the second-leading rusher at the university considered the cradle of great tailbacks.
White smells the goal line like few players I’ve seen. He never publicly complained when teammates Matt Leinart and Reggie Bush or coaches Pete Carroll and Norm Chow received most of the acclaim for USC’s success. He never complained about the lack of recognition for his contributions. All he did was win with Trojan class.
Fight on, LenDale!
