Wyoming advances at MWC tennis meet

The University of Wyoming women’s tennis team defeated Air Force in the opening round of the Mountain West Conference Tournament after Amy Senko won a match-deciding, three-set tiebreaker over Meghan Kiser at the Barnes Tennis Center in San Diego.

It was Wyoming’s first-ever MWC Tournament victory.

No. 9 Wyoming will face No. 1 Texas Christian today at 2 p.m. in the quarterfinals. No. 7 Colorado State faces No. 2 Brigham Young at 10 a.m.

RMAC salutes Metro State baseball player

Metro State senior first baseman Mike Hoefs earned the RMAC player of the week award after hitting two home runs and collecting six RBIs in Metro’s three victories.

Shorter speaking on doping issues

Former Olympic marathon champion Frank Shorter will discuss the worldwide battle against doping at 6 p.m. tonight at Tattered Cover in LoDo. Shorter was the founding chairman of the U.S. Anti-Doping Agency.
