Runners hoping to improve their understanding of training, especially for the marathon, can learn from two experts on the subject in clinics this week.
Two-time Olympian Alan Culpepper of Lafayette, who finished fifth last month in the Boston Marathon, will share his advice on training at the Boulder Running Company store at 7 p.m. Wednesday in Boulder.
“It’s in hopes of helping people to prepare in a way maybe they haven’t before, or to open up their thinking process in terms of what it means to prepare properly for different distances,” said Culpepper, a former University of Colorado runner. “It’s really just to help those who are going to be competing this summer in different events … to have a better understanding of what they’re trying to accomplish in terms of their training.”
Jeff Galloway, a 1972 Olympian and a veteran of 116 marathons whose books on running consistently rank among the best sellers in the sport, will speak at 7 p.m. Friday at the Boulder Running Company store in Littleton.
Culpepper also will speak June 14 at Runner’s Choice in Boulder and July 12 at Fleet Feet in Boulder.
