SPOKANE, Wash.-

It's show time at the roaring Spokane Falls through downtown.

The swollen Spokane River is sending torrents of water over the scenic falls, and the spectacle is expected to continue throughout the spring because of heavy snowpack in the mountains.

Charles Ross of the National Weather Service in Spokane said he expects several more weeks of high flows on all of the rivers in Eastern Washington and northern Idaho because of all the snow in the mountains. That will allow an extended season for viewing the crashing water in the heart of Spokane.

The falls usually slow to a trickle later in the summer.
