Best meal: Gio’s Restaurant in French Harbor has a seafood platter that is more than ample for two people, with excellent food and reasonable prices. Best deal: The snorkeling was excellent. The island is rapidly becoming a vacation destination, but it is not yet as developed and commercial as Cozumel, etc. We rented a cabana on the beach at West Bay and a car. The island is small, but taxis are expensive and shopping for anything other than souvenirs is a distance from the beach areas.
Best time to go: February might be a safe bet for dry, sunny days.
Best travel tips: Check your passport. You must have at least 90 days of valid travel time left on your passport to go to Honduras. We were denied boarding at DIA because our passports had only 83 days left on them. Our departure was delayed a week while we had our passports renewed by an expediter.
