Getting your player ready...

The Colorado Rockies baseball event for senior schoolboy players, now dubbed the Top 50 Game, will be played at Coors Field on June 4.

Senior players selected by a panel of Rockies personnel, scouts, coaches and media will gather at the stadium and compete after the Rockies complete a three-game homestand against the Florida Marlins. The National League game will start at 1:05 p.m., and the high school game will begin afterward.

The coaches for the players, who will be broken into two groups, will be those who lead teams to state championships in Colorado’s four classifications: Classes 5A, 4A, 3A and 2A. The championships are scheduled for May 20, with 5A and 4A in Denver and 3A and 2A in Pueblo. It is based on incorporating at least one player from each class and representing as many areas of the state as is warranted.

As has been the case for regular-season prep games held at Coors Field, the senior game will have a two-hour time limit and all players chosen are scheduled to see action. For tickets, call 1-800-388-ROCK.
