For the 10th straight year, Jacob is No. 1.

New parents in Colorado chose that name for boys over all others in 2005 once again, the state health department reports.

For girls, the E-name jousting continues, with Emily nudging out last year’s winner, Emma, to regain the top spot. The other top 10 girls’ names were Abigail, Madison, Isabella, Olivia, Hannah, Samantha and Ashley, with Ella and Sophia tied for 10th.

Also for the 10th straight year, Joshua was the No. 2 boys’ name, followed by Alexander, Joseph, Ethan, Tyler, Daniel, Michael, Andrew and Anthony.

For the fourth year in a row, Nevaeh – Heaven spelled backward – was the most popular name for African-American girls. Trinity, Aaliyah, Destiny and Sarah finished the top five.

For African-American boys, Elijah and Isaiah stayed most- popular. Joshua, Joseph and Anthony rounded out the top five.

Among Latino parents, Ashley, Maria, Isabella, Mia and Emily were popular for girls; Jose, Angel, Juan, Daniel and Luis were tops for boys.
