“Colorado’s Celebrity Cribs,” 9:30 p.m. Friday on The WB, KWGN-Channel 2

What WB2 anchor Asha Blake relished most about getting inside the homes of four high-profile Colorado residents was the chance to peek at their personal sides. “I love to know what makes people tick,” says Blake, an Emmy-award winning interviewer who worked in Los Angeles, Detroit and Little Rock, Ark., before relocating to Denver. Her half-hour special is inspired by the MTV series that walks cameras into the homes of rap and rock stars. The show pairs two previously taped segments, in which Blake toured the properties of actor Rick Schroder and local philanthropist and horse-lover Sharon Magness Blake, with two new segments featuring in-home interviews with Peggy Vandeweghe, wife of former Nuggets general manager Kiki Vandeweghe, and Marcel Pitton, live-in managing director of Denver’s Brown Palace Hotel & Spa. Filming the show allowed Blake intimate moments with each of her subjects – like poking through the refrigerator with Peggy Vendeweghe, an engineer and architect by trade who also is an accomplished cook. Or hanging out with Pitton in his suite at the Brown Palace during his morning grooming routine. “When you get into somebody’s home,” Blake says, “you really learn who they are.”

“Colorado’s Celebrity Cribs” will be followed next week by “Asha Blake One on One,” airing at 9:30 p.m. May 19, in which the anchor chats up George Karl, Jack Weil and DJ Chonz. | Elana Ashanti Jefferson
