SCOTT: Why’s he so insensitive and cheap? Is he employed? Do you receive gifts for your birthday and holidays from him and does he make up for it in other ways?
He should be more thoughtful; it just shows respect for the other person. Not only should he pay for dinner but also buy you a little gift from time to time, just to show he cares. I bet you don’t get that either. Even if he doesn’t have a lot of money, that’s ok, it doesn’t take much.
Hey guys: you don’t have to go overboard but a little goes a long way when it comes to your lover. And that’s not all. Be a gentleman and open the door for her, give her flowers or an occasional card. It shows you’re not taking anything for granted.
That brings us back to you. Gently confront your boyfriend and tell him that his cheapness bugs you and then slide the check over to his side of the table.
